Sharon McKennon

With over 35 years of hospitality management experience, Sharon has the core expertise to contribute towards a successful company. Sharon has served in leadership roles in sales and marketing for Westin, Ritz-Carlton, Wyndham and Sheraton Hotels and Resorts. Through her high-level experience with these prominent companies, Sharon has excelled in continually raising the standard for excellence in service.

She believes that the key ingredients of success are attitude, passion, persistence and teamwork. These ideals are infused in everything that District Experience produces, from VIP Board Dinners to tour programs.

Managing Director

A Washington native, has over 13 years experience in the DMC sector, 9 of which were spent in the DC area. She has a proven track record of building and maintaining excellent client relationships. Lori has been responsible for the life cycle of a wide variety of award-winning special events and meeting spanning from sales, pre-planning, coordinating and negotiating with vendors, logistics, and ensuring that program execution was flawless. In addition, to her hospitality industry experience, she brings with her over a decade of financial and client management skills that gives her a broad base of experience to draw on to be able to be organized, focus on the details, stay within budget all while still being able to create impeccably creative programs for her clients. As Director, Lori works closely with the team to ensure that our clients' expectations are always exceeded.

Account Manager

Events are engrained into Emilie’s very fabric, born to a caterer who got her start cooking for Bruce Springsteen and the former manager of Lollapalooza, this industry is home for Emilie. She has over 13 years of experience in hospitality, operating events as intimate as three person luncheons in the private dining rooms of the Supreme Court for the late Justice Antonin Scalia; to multisensory exhibit openings for hundreds of attendees at the Smithsonian Institutes. Emilie brings a high level of expertise to logistics and building trust with clients by providing consistency and clarity to their programs.

Emilie is deeply rooted in the Washington, DC Metro area. Born in Arlington and raised in Alexandria, she is proud to be a lifelong native. While there are many amazing places to live in the world, Emilie feels incredibly lucky to have the Nation’s Capital as her hometown and enjoys touring the city as much as the tourists do! In her spare time, Emilie is a dedicated athlete and admirer of architecture, music, and philosophy.

Hillwood Estate, home to the late Marjorie Merriweather Post is a true gem of the city, it boasts 13 acres of gardens and two Fabergé eggs. As a member, I love sipping coffee while sitting amongst its blooms on the weekends (but you don’t have to be a member to visit!)

Account Manager

Originally hailing from Puerto Rico, Beatriz has excelled in the DMC field in multiple cities including Miami, Los Angeles, San Juan, and now Washington DC. With a background in sales and marketing, Beatriz most recently led the marketing efforts for a leading DMC in San Juan in addition to successfully managing her own programs. Her clients have tasked her to take on everything from hiking tours in El Yunque Rainforest, to sporting events, televised award shows and multi-day, city-wide conventions, as well as musical events – her true event planning passion.

Beatriz acquired her Destination Management Certified Professional (DMCP) certification in 2017.

Must-do things for first timers in DC:
Seeing the monuments at night is absolutely breathtaking. By day there are museums, museums and more museums, and finally, hiking near-by spots like Roosevelt Island or the National Arboretum.
